Since we think these two were born
on about May 20, 2000, our little guys are now 12 weeks old. We got
them on July 10, so they've been in our family for a little over four weeks
now. Seems like longer than that! Click
here for our first pictures of Bowser and Spooky.
It's been so fun to watch them grow
and change. Initially Spooky was much more people oriented and Bowser
was much more playful. In the past couple weeks, Bowser has become
a tremendous cuddle-kitten, and Spooky has tried on the persona of being
a psychotic cat. Spook seems to have settled down in the past few
days, and they take turns cuddling in our laps.
They've also gotten a lot bigger.
We noticed it especially when we took them to the vet for their second
set of shots. The carrier we brought them home in seems like it had
shrunk about one cat size. On their first vet check in July, they
both weighed 2 lbs. At this last check, Bowser was 2.4 lbs, and Spook
weighed in at 3 lbs (a big jump for a little kitten!). He's been
much more aggressive about eating. We think he may have been "the
runt" and then discovered the joy of power and aggressiveness.
Recently, peace is reigning in the
house. Maybe that's because they are sleeping right now:)
There's been a lot of fighting going on recently. Bowser tends to be on the bottom. I wonder if Bowser will be hit by a testosterone jump and become the aggressor at some point.
August 9 Pictures of Bowser
I have so many pictures of these guys sleeping! I guess it's mostly because it is so much harder to get good pictures of them while they are doing their agile aerial gymnastics!
Bowser really likes to look outside. Here he is on our dresser window next to a little figurine Aunt Kate sent.
Biiiiig stretch!
August 9 Pictures of Spook
Whole body stretch!
Spook sometimes falls down behind the cushion while sleeping. Here he's pulled himself out most of the way, but there have been times that we've sat down and seen just two little ears peeking up behind the cushion. I guess it's still cozy!
Spook has taken to watching TV on occasion. Here he was enjoying my Super Mario World game. He was quite intrigued by little red Mario. There was a moment when both of them were sitting in front of the TV looking up like that. It was adorable!
Bryan got this quick picture as Spooky jumped up to grab Mario. We had a good laugh over that.
